I downloaded the software, followed all the instructions to the letter. Then had to do the three lines in separate shots as I got the file not found when trying to do them all at once. I hit reboot and everything seemed fine until I tried to repair permissions. Any ideas?

One other thing. There is nothing. After taking up the Tidal free trial on the 14th I noticed a distinct fall off in SQ generally. I decided that because I was not enjoying the library music so much as I had at time of purchase I should try integer mode 2 but it and Direct Mode had gone. The only thing which I had done were the Tidal sign up and played some DSD files which my DAC claimed not to be able to play but I do not see how these could have any bearing on the disappearance of Direct Mode.

I am tearing what remains of my hair out. I should add that I have since updated to The workaround is to unplug and re-plug in my DAC. That resets things and I am able to select and play a different album or song. It works, but it is not an ideal solution. I would love to find a permanent solution to the problem. Any more ideas or suggestions would be most welcomed.

We are now with catalina and before mojave, they all works… but after a mac system update, you will need to redo the hack, maybe that what happen to you? If everything is ok we see that the file,IOAudioFamily. When you see the apple logo, let go of the keys, and choose Terminal App in the menu bar and execute the following command to enable SIP back again and reboot csrutil enable; reboot. Happy Listening. Here they are mine… been helping with that since el capitan.

Just use the IOAudioFamily. No, I have not yet enabled SIP. You do not need any software. Hackintool did not work. You do not need any other software to install Kext kernel extensions file on Catalina…. If you execute the commands in order step by step, you can enable direct mode by installing IOAudioFamily. I have also repeated this step on Catalina but maybe you do not need that anymore. First simply follow the instructions and execute the 10 lines of code in order without installing any other software.

Or, you can give the full path of the IOAudioFamily. That line is for disabling sip… you have to redo cmd r and enable back sip after the procedure worked or your system will still be we no security…. And also, you put the. I added an additional step to disable SIP at the beginning and edited some sentences to make them more clear as you have advised.

So… should i put back my original Screen Shot at 9. In it you have a link for the free app, a text How to… and the original. I have change my text a bit to make it more clear, and add some pictures before and after the change.
